The goal of the occupational therapy applied by Dietmar Mies and his staff is the greatest possible independence and maximization of the quality of life of each patient. After completing his training, Dietmar Mies first worked in a rehabilitation clinic, then in a psychiatric clinic and a physiotherapy practice. In 2008, the Warstein native opened his own occupational therapy practice in "Legoland", followed by moves within the core city due to constant expansion of services and staff. In the meantime, the Dietmar Mies occupational therapy practice has been located at Hauptstraße 71 in Warstein since 2012.
The team of the practice includes nine employees, who can prove qualifications in all important specialties. The spectrum ranges from developmental support for children, hand and pain therapies, brain performance and memory training to the treatment of neurological and orthopedic clinical pictures and dementia therapies. In addition, the team offers Marburg concentration courses and dyslexia and dyscalculia training in the therapy rooms.
At Warstein's Maria Hilf Hospital, the occupational therapists are responsible for geriatric complex treatment together with Dietmar Mies.
