Nature Park Info Center and Exhibition on Medebach Bay
One of six nature park information centers of the Sauerland Rothaargebirge Nature Park is located in the exhibition rooms of the tourist information office on the market square. State Environment Minister Ursula Heinen-Esser opened the info center in a ceremonial setting in December 2018. In addition to citizen information and environmental education, the info center offers an interesting exhibition on the natural, cultural and economic area of Medebach Bay.
In the Nature Park Info Center, you will receive information about all significant natural and cultural experiences within the Nature Park, which will be presented to you with the help of an interactive table and an action wall with the most modern means of communication. You will also get a comprehensive overview of the jewels of the nature park. The action wall is filled with local content. For example, you can observe native animals, feel the forest or learn interesting facts about the"Nature Park Jewel Medebach Bay" in videos and at listening stations.
There is also plenty of fun to be had: using the touch screen of the interactive table, young and old can compete in a nature park memory game or break the time record in solving a sliding puzzle.
The exhibition on Medebach Bay clearly illustrates the special features and habitats of the nature reserve. Especially rare bird and insect species have found niches in the forest, running water, Heid or grassland, which are presented here with many display boards and objects.
The exhibition is accessible free of charge during opening hours via the Tourist Information.
