The Möhnesee is the largest dam in the Sauerland in terms of area and is therefore also called the "Westphalian sea".

Hiking trails lead through natural paradises such as the Möhneauen and the Heve peninsula, which is home to thousands of water birds.
In addition, the surroundings of the Möhnesee are rich in cultural and historical gems, such as the St. Pancratius Church in Körbecke and the Drüggelte Chapel. The Bismarckturm and the 40m high Möhneseeturm are wonderful to look far into the country.
