On the 4th stage of the Bestwig Panorama Trail, you will pass the idyllic Mariengrotte if you follow the Alfertkreuzung, the Kutschenweg and the Kreuzweg Nuttlar. Passing the Mariengrotte, you hike to the Dümel settlement.

Originally, this was located after the Schlehborntal in the middle of the forest until all the trees were brought down by the hurricane Kyrill in January 2007 around the grotto. The Mariengrotte itself was fortunately spared.
