For three decades, until his death, the creator, thinker and educator Hugo Kükelhaus lived and worked in his adopted home of Soest. In 1954, he converted an old half-timbered barn into a 'priceless' house according to his ideas and made it the center of his creative work.
To this day, Kükelhaus' former workrooms retain their authentic aura and, together with the exhibits in the other parts of the house, offer a lively opportunity to approach the world of thought and creativity of this versatile man. The basic principles of so-called organlogical building, color design and material meaning, which according to Kükelhaus are of decisive importance for a person's sense of well-being, can be traced in the house. The possibility to make experiences with all senses makes a guided tour through this house unforgettable. Visits are only possible as part of a guided tour.
