The Hochheide hikers' parking lot is a suitable starting point for wonderful hikes on the Rothaarsteig. For example, you can walk through the Schwarzbachtal nature reserve to the Rhein-Weser-Turm (lookout tower, catering) or head south over the Dreiherrnstein and the Ferndorf spring to the Ginsburg (lookout tower; refreshments available).
A shorter round trip is offered by the designated hiking trail A4, which leads to the Sauerland-Seelenorte "Schwarzbachtal bei Haus Schwarz". A lot of interesting information about the hiking area between Heinsberg Heid, Schwarzbachtal and Dreiherrnstein can be found on "Grenzgeschichten hautnah" - just listen to it!
