In the immediate vicinity is the more than 100-year-old Gasthof Freisen-Leutner with a bowling alley and cozy rooms.
In Helmeringhausen there is an old slate tunnel, which was used as a protective bunker during the 2nd World War. This can be visited by arrangement with Mr. Hester. The tunnel leads about 50 m into the mountains and can be entered comfortably on foot.

Directions: From Winterberg:Leave the 480 in Olsberg Mitte in the direction of Meschede and drive to the Bigger church (right) Hotel Schettel (left), there you turn left in the direction of Helmeringhausen from the main road and follow the road to the church in Helmeringhausen. In the left curve you leave Bigger Straße straight ahead and enter Voßbachstraße. You will then find Hubertushaus on the right (2nd house counted from the bend).From Brilon:Follow the 480 to Olsberg Mitte and then turn towards Meschede and continue as indicated above.From Meschede:After the place name sign Nuttlar end, leave the B7 in the direction of Winterberg. Then drive first through Bigge until you reach Bigge church (left), Hotel Schettel (right) and turn right before the inn in the direction of Helmeringhausen. Now follow the description in point 1.
