The half-timbered house in Oestinghausen, dating from the 16th century, is an example of half-timbering preserved in Lippetal. The richly decorated half-timbered facade is striking. Besides this house, half-timbered buildings have been preserved in all parts of Lippetal and contrast with new and more modern buildings.
Today, the Heimatverein Oestinghausen maintains a central museum Heimathaus in this building.
Wedding ceremonies of the municipality of Lippetal also take place in the premises.
