On the grounds of the Heesfelder Mühle you will find a variety of offers for your leisure time. In addition to wonderful impressions of nature and environmental education events for young and old, you can visit the historic buildings and are invited to cultural events and culinary delights.

At the beginning of the 1990s, the Center for Nature Conservation and Cultural Landscape Preservation of the Heesfelder Mühle e.V. association was founded here. The center of the association's work is the water mill of the same name. It was lovingly restored in two years of painstaking work from 1991 to 1993 with a great deal of personal effort and financial support from the NRW Foundation. In the meantime, several business branches have grown out of the association.

An exterior tour of the Geäbude is possible at any time, an interior tour on request.

In the upper part of the building, environmental education events and cultural events such as concerts, readings and discussions take place. Dates can be found here: https://www.heesfelderm-muehle.de/termine

Not far from the building complex of the Heesfelder Mühle is a (scattered) fruit variety garden maintained by the association. Information boards inform the visitors about all kinds of interesting facts about the meadow orchard and a forest sofa invites to a relaxed rest.

Furthermore, between 1994 and 1997 the association was able to restore the listed school to the Heesfelder Mühle, which was built by Halveran farmers in 1782 for their children. The former classroom now serves as an outpost of the registry office of the city of Halver. A collection of historical tools from agriculture and handicrafts forms the museum framework. Guided tours for groups are also offered by appointment.

In the adjoining rooms are the offices of the Heesfelder Mühle e.V. The association offers advice, planning and implementation of biotope design and maintenance measures, especially for the protection of meadow orchards. Within the framework of the project Naturerlebnis Oben an der Volme (Nature Experience Up on the Volme), which is supported by EU funds, nature experience and environmental education events in the entire Volme region are also coordinated here.

The reservoir is the newest building on the association's premises. The upper part houses the Sound Bakery, an event agency with a music label. Among other things, the Sound Bakery regularly organizes major events on the mill site. These include the Cherry Blossom Festival on May 1, MusikFever, the Pumpkin Market on October 3, and the Arts and Crafts Christmas Market on the first weekend of Advent. The former storage room can be rented for private events through Sound Bakery. It can accommodate 30-80 people in addition to a self-use kitchen.

After a hike on the nearby circular hiking trails A11 + A12, which lead through the adjacent forest, Café Heimatliebe invites you to a delicious coffee break or even tarte flambée and wine. It is located in the lower part of the storehouse. You can find the opening hours here!
