The Westig station, which is the only one of these stations to have survived unchanged, is a half-timbered building on a rubble stone base and has variously shaped roofs. It comprises a two-story main building and single-story annexes on either side. The station was not only an urban reference point in the former street village of Westig, but was also an important hub in local history, because the reloading of goods from standard-gauge wagons to narrow-gauge railroads took place here, thus continuing the industrial development of the Ihmert valley, which had already started from here in the High Middle Ages. In 1989, traffic on the lserlohn-Menden line was discontinued and shortly thereafter the tracks were dismantled. The city of Hemer prevented the imminent demolition of the Westig station by placing the building under a preservation order. The former station is now used by a beverage store.
