It was built in 1868 by the master builder Johann Barthomé in the historical style, probably as a replacement for an older building. In the end of the choir, the Holy Sepulchre is designed as the end point of the Passion of Christ and the last station of the seven footfalls, which are attributed to the Baroque workshop Papen.
Many people visit the chapel, come to rest there, say a prayer, light a candle and enjoy the magnificent view of the land of a thousand mountains.
