The spacious rooms of the Kunstverein are located on the second floor of a classicist town house on the central Neumarkt, a square built according to plans by Schinkel, whose building fabric has been virtually preserved. Located in the heart of the Altstadt, overlooking the Neumarkt as well as its own idyllic garden, many artists choose to expand the spatial presentation with outdoor projects. Through projects beyond the rooms, an additional free space is appropriated and the field of thought and action is expanded.

The Arnsberg Art Association was founded in the fall of 1987 on private initiative with the aim of creating a platform within the region for encounters with international contemporary art. In addition to the changing solo and group exhibitions and annually selected annual gifts, the association offers its members accompanying lectures, joint studio visits and excursions.
