The village museum mainly presents furniture from the 19th and early 20th century, most of which comes from the estate of the Altenbüren innkeeper and merchant family Tüllmann.

After extensive renovation, the exhibits provide a fascinating insight into the living and housing conditions of times past. Old agricultural and domestic tools and utensils, which are displayed in separate rooms, bring the working life of our ancestors back to life. Another room is dedicated to popular piety and shows products of faith in writing and pictures. The Second World War is also a theme.

The second focus of the village museum is the collection and systematic archiving of written and photographic evidence of the village history.

Help us to find and polish up the treasures of Altenbüren. If you find interesting things in your houses, chests or drawers, which could be of value for the processing of our village history, then we ask you cordially to make this available to us, also on loan. Contact person for you would be Mark Reermann or also all other board members.
