Anyone who can experience science up close, try out amazing phenomena with their own hands, eyes and ears and conduct their own experiments will quickly become an inventor. This is also the aim of the Phänomenta in Lüdenscheid, which aims to inspire young and old alike for the amazing world of physics. At 180 stations, there is plenty to touch, try out and marvel at, be it the walk-in mirror, the hand-held battery or the infinite musical scale.
So much exploring and discovering makes you hungry - so quickly head into the city center, which is just a few steps away. In the pedestrian zone, there are plenty of places to stop for a bite to eat, whether in the spacious modern squares or in the winding alleyways of Altstadt. In numerous specialist stores and in the Stern-Center with its over 100 attractive and modern stores, you can experience shopping with friendly and expert advice in a tempting variety throughout the year. One of the most attractive weekly markets in the region takes place on Wednesdays and Saturdays on the town hall square.
If you want to enjoy the relaxing nature after or instead of a stroll through the city center, head to the Versetalsperre. From Lüdenscheid railroad station, take BUS 54 in the direction of Grünestraße ZOB, Plettenberg and reach the Versetalsperre in 17 minutes without changing buses.
Alternatively, you can drive south past the Lüdenscheid-Süd highway exit in the direction of Herscheid. At the next fork in the road, turn right along the banks of the Verse to the parking lot in front of the Klam bridge. Our tip for children begins to the right of the bridge: the KNAX-Naturerlebnispfad at the Hokühler Bay of the Versetalsperre (40 minutes' walk from the bus stop). There is a lot to discover here. You will come across musical wood, aquatic animals that build houses and trees that tell stories. Nine stations on the 1.9 km circular trail around the bay invite you to make exciting and interesting discoveries that appeal to all the senses.
