Dieser landschaftlich schöne Wege führt von Paderborn kommend nach Marsberg und über die ehemalige Römerstraße bis nach Elspe. Dort trifft der Jakobsweg auf die Heidenstraße bis Meinerzhagen und führt dann durch das Bergische Land ein Stück über den Elisabethpfad bis nach Köln.

Schon im Mittelalter zogen Pilger aus dem Norden und Osten Europas nach Santiago de Compostela in Spanien. Von Paderborn geht es über den ehemaligen Römerweg durch das Sauerland  bis Elspe über Husen, Dalheim, Meerhof, Marsberg, Padberg, Gudenhagen und Olsberg. Dort treffen die Pilger dann auf die alte Heidenstraße". Der komplette Weg ist mit der Pilgermuschel gekennzeichnet und bietet auf seiner Wegstrecke viele historische Sehenswürdigkeiten.

Von Paderborn bis ins ferne Spanien nach Santiago de Compostela sind es fast 2.600 km zu pilgern.

Public transiot

Marsberg liegt verkehrsgünstig an der Bahnstrecke Kassel/Hagen. Derzeit fahren die Züge jeweils zur vollen Stunde in beide Richtungen. Meinerzhagen ist mit der RB 25 im Stundentakt aus dem Köln erreichbar und aus dem Ruhrgebiet fährt die RB 52 im Zwei-Stunden-Takt von Hagen Hbf bis Lüdenscheid-Brügge und von dort weiter mit der RB 25 nach Meinerzhagen.

Getting there

Meinerzhagen ist schnell über die A 45 erreichbar. Nach Marsberg führt die A 44 bis zur Abfahrt Marsberg, dann Richtung Marsberg über die B7 ca. 10 Kilometer.
