It was destroyed by weather conditions and a lightning strike. On September 20, 1992 the new cross was inaugurated. The artist Jürgen Suberg created it from a single old oak trunk.

The quarry stone base with the stone slab has been preserved.

The Way of the Cross with 3 stations starts at the chapel and leads to the cross via Woltenberg Street.
