Bullerteich - Warstein

Water plays a dominant role in the townscape of Warstein: countless streams rise here, sometimes disappear into the karstic underground, reappear elsewhere and finally flow into small rivers such as the Wäster.

A special gem is the Bullerteich in the northern part of the Warstein district. The tranquil pond got its name from the rising bubbles, which indicate the formation of natural carbonic acid in the existing limestone. Directly opposite is the Trockelsknäppchen spring, which was found during the construction of an air raid shelter in the limestone rock during the Second World War. Today, thanks to the Friends of the Bullerteich e.V. association, it can be visited through windows.
