In Neuenrade, the forest becomes an experience - under this motto, hikers experience the forest with all their senses. There is plenty to marvel at, experience and try out. Families with children are thrilled.

Due to the bark beetle calamity and the associated logging work and timber removal, there may currently be disruptions.
Most of the "Uhupfad" circular hiking trail leads along the Sauerland-Höhenflug long-distance hiking trail (Wanderbares Deutschland quality trail). The 2.3 km circular trail branches off from the Squirrel Trail and leads us to a wonderful view of the Lenne Valley.
The former "information trail" has become an "adventure trail" on which children in particular can "experience" the forest as a summary of sensory impressions and also become physically active themselves. Focusing on children's experiences in the forest seems to us to be the most sustainable way of all, because what children have experienced once in a positive way, they will not forget for the rest of their lives and pass it on to their offspring. The information is conveyed directly on site and is linked to the real objects or the respective locations. The individual circular routes are dedicated to specific themes and marked with a specific color for better orientation.
There is an information board at the start of the trail to help us find our way.First we follow the Eichhörnchenweg to the Hexentanzplatz and further uphill until we reach the junction marked with the eagle owl symbol. (You can find a detailed description of the Eichhörnchenweg in the tour Walderlebnispfad Eichhörnchenweg in Neuenrade). We turn right onto the Eagle Owl Trail and pass the insect hotel "Zur schnarchenden Hummel". There we can sit on a bench and enjoy the view of the Lenne valley. An information board tells us what we can see.We then keep left and hike uphill along a narrow path to Falkenlei. There we can take a short break at the refuge. As in some places before, there are information boards here. What wild animals are there in our forest? What tracks do the forest animals leave in the snow? What mushrooms are there? How well do we know the local woods? Now we turn left back towards Neuenrade.
